Minutes of the Board of Control of the Alabama Experiment Station, 1911-1922.

The Board of Control for the Alabama Experiment Station was responsible for the appointment and discharge of officers, agents, or servants necessary to the operation of the station and for determining the compensation of said personnel. Duties of the board were to stimulate such experiments at the station as to advance the interests of scientific agriculture and cause any necessary chemical analyses to be made (Ala. Code, 2-5-56 and 2-5-57, [1907]). This record consists of the minutes of the board's meetings and related correspondence regarding appointments made by the board at its meetings. The letters of correspondence precede the minutes of the meeting at which the appointments were confirmed.
